Software that knows the passenger.
Four products by WestDigital for airlines, rail and cruise operators. The operator's own streaming service, personalized per person rather than per screen. Every film reviewed once, for every operator's rules.
01The products
Four products. One model of the passenger.
WestIQ is the brain. Stream is the experience. TOM is content intelligence. Together they give an operator personalization, advertising, commerce and a screen that knows where the passenger is going. Buy them as software, with no content contract attached.
The brain. AI personalization for the person in the seat, not the seat.
See WestIQThe experience. The operator's own streaming service, with no onboard server to install.
See StreamThe upgrade. Stream with WestIQ built in.
See it inside StreamContent intelligence. It watches every frame. A person makes the call.
See TOM02WestIQ
The brain.
The seat learns as you scroll
WestIQ is the AI personalization platform for travel entertainment: the intelligence layer between an operator's catalog and every screen, seatback or personal device. One brain for the whole session, so entertainment, retail and the journey learn from each other.
Watch a heist film and the boutique shows you luggage. Browse restaurants in the arrival city and the film rows follow. The destination guide knows what you watched, and the store knows where you are landing. It can also be bought for the insight alone: your own material, questions asked in plain language, and no personalization loop at all.
What it does, in the order the seat meets it
Signals
Every play, pause, browse and abandon becomes a structured signal, batched for the connectivity a fleet really has.
Personas
The person in the seat, not the seat. A family sharing a screen is four viewers.
Recommendations
Scored again as the flight goes on, not once at boarding, and every one carries its reason.
Search
Passengers ask the way they speak, and results are ranked by meaning.
Ads and commerce
Decided per person and per moment, so attention turns into ancillary revenue. The boutique reorganizes around the journey.
Destination
Destination-aware content and itineraries. The screen knows where the passenger is going.
Your own material
Your catalog, your curators' notes, your programming and commercial history, your research. It goes in as yours, it is retrieved only for you, and WestIQ uses it both when it recommends and when it answers.
Programming and insight
Which titles earn their licensing, and what to put on board next cycle. The same intelligence goes to OEMs and platform partners as data.
Entertainment, retail and the journey share one continuously learning model of the person in the seat.
03Stream and StreamIQ
The experience.
The device becomes yours
Stream by WestDigital is the operator's own streaming service: their brand, their domain, on connected aircraft, ships and trains. It plays on the seatback and on the passenger's own device.
It streams from the cloud over the connectivity the fleet already has, and every operator is a world of its own.
What an operator gets
Your brand, your domain
The passenger sees your name, your art and your domain, never ours.
Every screen the passenger has
On the seatback, and on the phone or tablet the passenger brought.
From the cloud
No box on the aircraft, the ship or the train. Nothing to install, certify or maintain.
Protected and monetized
Studio-grade content protection, with a storefront and advertising built into the experience.
The upgrade
StreamIQ by WestDigital is Stream with WestIQ built in.
The same service, now personal to every seat.
Stream stands on its own. StreamIQ is the upgrade, and an operator moves from one to the other without changing platform.
04TOM
Content intelligence.
The film lights up with findings
- More than80%less manual review work
- 800%more data captured per title
- 15 to 20minutes of human review per film
TOM by WestDigital is AI content review and content intelligence for travel entertainment. It watches every frame, listens to every line and reads every subtitle. It finds what an operator's guidelines would flag: language, nudity, violence, substance use, religious, political and cultural sensitivities, territorial maps and flags, aviation incidents, and the regional rules that differ from carrier to carrier. Every finding is timestamped with its evidence.
TOM reads the film once, neutrally, then applies each operator's own policy profile on top, so one pass serves every carrier's standards.
One film through TOM
Films arrive
By URL, by download or by upload, from the operator or the content service provider that works for it. TOM runs unattended across many films at once.
Every frame, line and subtitle
The whole runtime, not a sample: every frame, every line of dialogue, every subtitle.
Findings with evidence
Every finding is timestamped with the frame, the line or the scene behind it.
Each operator's rules
One neutral pass, then each carrier's own policy profile on top. New rules, same pass.
A reviewer confirms
Findings open in a browser. A reviewer audits, approves or denies, and exports the edit decision list and the edit notes the post house needs.
Metadata to WestIQ
The same pass captures frame-level, timecoded metadata: brands, products, locations, scenes, moods and sensitivities.
Every film TOM has reviewed stays searchable. Its metadata feeds WestIQ, so a recommendation or a shopping suggestion can point at the exact moment in a scene.
A person makes every compliance call. The machine does the watching.
05How they fit
TOM reads the film. WestIQ reads the passenger. StreamIQ puts them on the same screen.
One model of the passenger. TOM feeds it, WestIQ builds it, StreamIQ acts on it. TOM's timecoded metadata tells WestIQ what is on screen at any moment. WestIQ tells the screen what this person wants next. StreamIQ is the screen, the storefront and the ad, each with its reason on record.
- 1TOM reads the film
- 2WestIQ reads the passenger
- 3StreamIQ puts them on the same screen
- The passenger
06Trust
Every operator is a world of its own.
Another operator asks for your data. Denied.
Your catalog and your passengers' behavior stay inside your world. The isolation is architectural, not contractual: credentials are the tenant, every operator has its own encryption keys, and a training-data wall is enforced in the infrastructure. We can show it live.
What every product is built to
Zero-PII personalization
Behavioral archetypes, nothing that identifies a person.
Child safety, fail-closed
Enforced in the platform, never left to the screen.
Explainability everywhere
Every recommendation, ad and score carries its reasoning.
Honest degradation
Fallbacks are visible, never silent. WestIQ answers within about two seconds, and the screen is never blank.
Measured operations
Service levels are measured, and everything leaves an audit trail.
What you put in stays yours
Your own material is retrieved only for you, and every answer shows the material it came from.
White-label by design
The same engine wears your colors, your type and your character. Partners build and test against sandbox tenants, with no production environment in the loop.
Another operator's credential cannot reach your data, and your data never trains another operator's model.
